Another workshop with Anita Ulrich …

I am currently taking part in the watercolor course with Anita Ulrich again.

Now I am involved  very much in watercolor painting. I am currently painting my own regional motifs. A mix of urban, industrial and rural motifs. But I definitely have to take part in Anita’s watercolor workshop again. Here I am exhibiting my sketches and watercolors that I paint as part of the workshop for 10 weeks. During this time, new pictures are added again and again.

A very nice idea from Anita is that this time there is a map on which the places of residence of the participants are pinned anonymously. The north is a large, almost empty spot on the map and it seems as if the whole south is represented in the workshop.

And now have fun watching

  • The topic of this is sunshine and especially the various forms of shadow will be discussed again.
  • Wind and storm are the topics of this week. You are asked for your own motifs on this topic with very light and dark areas. The motifs should be particularly suitable for negative painting.
  • Today I put together my motif for week 4. A house, laundry blowing in the yard on the clothesline and in front of it grass bending in the wind. In the background I have built in a waving flag. So it’s a typically North German motif. I’m going to start right now.
  • NEW – I will soon add an audio log file here at this point (only german part). The logbook should first be integrated on a trial basis and be a form of diary. Everything else then as a voice message …
  • Bright sunshine is the theme in the 3rd week. On April 9th, because of Easter, it’s only in the 4th week. Motifs with a lot of light and shadow determine the pictures until April 9th. But I will also paint some “drizzle” pictures …
  • I am currently working on a flower motif in A3 format – here it is important to depict the sunshine in a believable way. Anita has again given us some important rules that should help us with the implementation.
